Studies show that lack of maintenance is the leading cause of pond failure. Poor maintenance can create unpleasant odors, nuisance insects, algae, flooding, and generally an unsightly and unkempt area.
Please contact us for more information or a free estimate. Our estimates include a Maintenance Plan specific to your pond type and size.
Routine maintenance includes; vegetation management, trash and debris removal, sediment removal, and a visual inspection of structural components.
A Maintenance Inspection Checklist is provided with each maintenance visit.
Who's Responsible?
In most cases the commercial property owner or the Home Owners Association (HOA) is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the pond.
Definitions
Filtration Basin - Used to manage storm water runoff, filtration basins prevent flooding and downstream erosion, and improve water quality in adjacent rivers, lakes, and streams.
Detention Pond - A low lying area that is designed to temporarily hold a set amount of water while slowly draining to another location.
Retention Pond - Designed to hold a specific amount of water indefinitely. Usually the pond is designed to have drainage leading to another location when the water level gets above the pond capacity, but still maintains a certain capacity.
